Moscow: With the transfer of MIg-29 Slovakia violated the contract
Russia has accused Slovakia of violating a contract it signed in 1997 to deliver Soviet-era MiG-29 fighter jets to Ukraine. Under the agreement, Bratislava cannot transfer aircraft to another state without Russia’s consent, Moscow’s Federal Service for Military and Technical Cooperation said. Russian authorities spoke of a “hostile act” and a violation of Slovakia’s international obligations under the contract, which was also published on the website of the Russian Foreign Ministry. Yesterday Slovakia decided to deliver four aircraft to Ukraine, with nine more to follow “in the coming weeks”, the defense ministry in Bratislava told dpa. Three of the total 13 aircraft are not operational and must be used for spare parts.
Kiev: Go to the domestic production of drones
The government of Kiev has launched the implementation of a two-year experimental project for the acquisition of domestically produced unmanned defense systems. This was announced by Deputy Prime Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov on Telegram. “The government has launched the mass production of drones in Ukraine. A truly historic victory resolution was passed, which will significantly accelerate the creation and delivery of drones to the front and, most importantly, create the conditions for the rapid development of Ukrainian military forces. This will allow UAV manufacturers to develop, expand, reinvest profits and compete with foreign companies more actively. Instead of spending months on useless documents and procedures, authorization for use will be accelerated of UAVs, their purchase and delivery to the front.
