Mattarella: the brain drain is an option and not an obligation

“Today, working abroad no longer has to represent a mandatory option for anyone but an opportunity, especially for young people. It is the responsibility of the Republic to ensure that it is a free election”. President Sergio Mattarella underlined this in a video message to Italians abroad for June 2. “It’s – he added – moving from the ‘brain drain’ to the circulation of talents; feeding a virtuous circuit of skills and competences».

Meloni: “Rolling together in the same direction”

“It is not a simple museum celebration. It is the dimension of the fact that we either understand that, if there are difficulties or if things are going well, we can only get out of it together, each one must do his part. There is no one who solves problems by himself. Understanding that we are all connected is the necessary cultural element to understand that we all have to row in the same direction.’ This is what Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni has said, responding to journalists on the sidelines of the June 2 Party celebrations.

Crosetto: our beautiful Republic is 77 years old

“Women and Men of Defence, the Italian Republic was born thanks to the institutional referendum that asked Italians to choose freely, for the first time by universal suffrage, between the Republic and the Monarchy, on June 2, 1946, and thanks to the precious and extraordinary work of our founding fathers in the Constituent Assembly who wrote and drafted a true masterpiece, the Italian Constitution, of which we must always be proud and proud. And so our beautiful and glorious Republic celebrates 77 years of history today”. This was stated by the Minister of Defense Guido Crosetto on the occasion of the celebrations of June 2, Republic Day. “In the days leading up to this Festival, the attention of Italians was captured by unfortunately dramatic images: those – adds the minister – of the terrible flood that affected and devastated many areas of Emilia-Romagna. I mention the flood, two weeks after the beginning of the calamity, because in those images of flooded urban centers, of grief, of mud, of nature in revolt, of despair, but also of solidarity, of love, of a desire to start over. , of rescue workers who have come from all corners of Italy, of young and old determined to clean, of people who arm themselves to return, with obstinacy and courage, to normality, I have seen the Republic at its purest and more concrete: that of community, of a solidary community that brings together and unites all its citizens. I saw the Republic “of all” – Crosetto emphasizes again – but above all the Republic “for all”: the one that makes Italy a true “heritage of values”, as the theme of this year’s ceremony states, because we are Italy, with our values and our history”.

Mattarella: “Italy lined up for freedom and independence”

“More than a year later, the Italian Republic, together with the international community, remains committed to countering the aggression of the Russian Federation against the Ukrainian people. Italy is firmly aligned for the defense of its freedom, territorial integrity and independence, so that there is no future in which the force of law is replaced by the law of the strongest. An orderly international community can only be based on respect for these principles”. This is what the President of the Republic Sergio Mattarella says in a message sent to the Chief of the Defense Staff Giuseppe Cavo Dragone on the occasion of June 2 .

The passage of the Frecce Tricolori

After placing the laurel wreath on the altar of the Fatherland, the hymn to the Fallen was sung followed by the passage of the Frecce Tricolori that flew over Rome.

Mattarella: “The values of the election are pillars of our constitution”

“Today we celebrate the 77th anniversary of the birth of the Republic. The values of the election of June 2, 1946, transposed in the Constitutional Charter whose 75 years of life we remember, continue to guide us along the path of an Italy as a protagonist with authority in that European Union that we helped to build Freedom, equality, solidarity, respect for the rights of people and communities are fundamental pillars of our Constitution”. This is what the President of the Republic, Sergio Mattarella, says in a message to the Chief of the Defense Staff, Admiral Giuseppe Cavo Dragone.
